CMB Anisotropy in COBE-DMR-Normalized Open CDM Cosmogony

Abstract

We compute the CMB anisotropy in an open inflation CDM model which is normalized to the two-year DMR sky map. Presently available CMB data is consistent with $Ω_0 \sim 0.3 - 0.4$, but does not strongly disfavour either $Ω_0 \sim 0.1$ or $Ω_0 \sim 1$. Accumulating CMB data should strengthen the observational discriminative power, however, a better understanding of systematic effects will be needed before it will be possible to draw robust conclusions about model viability.
