Superconductivity in the ternary compound SrPt$_{10}$P$_4$ with complex new structure

arXiv:1712.02010

Abstract

We report superconductivity at 1.4K in the ternary SrPt$_{10}$P$_4$ with a complex new structure. SrPt$_{10}$P$_4$ crystallizes in a monoclinic space-group C2/c (\#15) with lattice parameters a= 22.9151(9)$à $, b= 13.1664(5)$à $, c=13.4131(5)$à $, and $β$= 90.0270(5)${^\circ}$. Bulk superconductivity in the samples has been demonstrated through resistivity, ac susceptibility, and heat capacity measurements. High pressure measurements have shown that the superconducting T$_C$ is systematically suppressed upon application of pressure, with a dT$_C$/dP coefficient of -0.016 K/GPa.
